Amazing time, and a look into London and its past you would not see or hear otherwise. Hope I remember the places I want to go back and spend more time at.

Lovely afternoon with Hazel, who tells great stories. She wears a microphone, and you can hear clearly. She took us to some interesting places you would never find alone. The history of the area was amazing, and I learnt a lot. I would highly recommend going on a trip with Hazel.

Another superb walk with Hazel, and if you have already been on one of Hazel’s walks, you will know that she is an excellent guide who is not only extremely knowledgeable but is also so entertaining that you hardly notice the time passing and want it to end. So much information is given, and I am amazed by how just turning a corner can take you back centuries.

“This was a much more sensational walk than the Dickens one – as was obvious from the title. Hazel had done a lot of research – we passed the Metropolitan archive building, where she had sourced plenty of material. The walk took in gory Victorian murders and Bleeding Heart yard The medieval ecclesiastical past of Farringdon was fascinating, particularly Charterhouse Square and the ancient church next to it.”

Brilliant talk by Hazel, her incredible knowledge of London is astounding. She mentioned her podcast which I
will definitely be tuning into. The pace was excellent, and we were incredibly lucky with the weather. Hazel also
made sure we were able to hear her, sometimes it can be difficult being in a noisy city! But equally, if we were
in a quieter part then Hazel would respect residents of the area and turn down/off her speaker. I’ll be looking
out for more of her talks!

What a brilliant walk. London is so different at night, and especially on valentines night! Hazel is an amazing
guide. She knows her subject inside out; came prepared with some interesting props; and could answer any
questions we threw at her. She even has her own podcast! We love the walks and talks because you learn so
much. Did you know that Ely Place in the heart of London is actually part of Ely? We will definitely come up
and wander around the area again.

I loved everything about this walk, guided with such energy, sensitivity and humour by the wonderful Hazel.
The subjects we covered were varied and the route was terrific, showing me a fascinating part of medieval
London. It’s a great idea to do the walk at night, when Bleeding Heart Yard, Charterhouse and St Bart’s are
even more atmospheric. I will seek out other tours led by Hazel – bravo!
